We are thrilled to announce that Carers Worldwide has been chosen as a strategic partner by the Goyal Foundation. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to achieve recognition for the vital role of unpaid family carers and to improve the lives of carers, their families, and their communities.

The Goyal Foundation, known for its commitment to making a lasting difference for disadvantaged communities both in the UK and abroad, has previously supported our work at Carers Worldwide. This new strategic partnership aims to build upon that foundation, focusing on two key areas: supporting the development of our Carers Groups and working with government agencies to attract more support for unpaid family carers in India and South Asia.

This partnership will enable us to expand our reach and impact in India, where millions of unpaid family carers face daily challenges with little recognition or support. By strengthening our Carers Groups, we can provide essential peer support, share resources, and empower unpaid carers to advocate for their needs collectively.

Moreover, the funding will bolster our efforts to advocate for the rights of unpaid carers at a societal level. This includes raising awareness about the critical role carers play, pushing for policy changes, and working towards a more inclusive society that recognises and supports the contributions of unpaid carers.

Dr. Anil Patil, Founder and Executive Director of Carers Worldwide, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership:

"We are deeply grateful to the Goyal Foundation for selecting Carers Worldwide as a strategic partner. This collaboration will significantly amplify our ability to support and empower unpaid family carers in India. By focusing on both grassroots support through our Carers Groups and high-level advocacy, we can create a comprehensive approach to improving the lives of carers. This partnership is a crucial step towards our vision of a world in which all unpaid carers are recognised, valued, and supported in their essential role."

Stephen Burke, CEO of the Goyal Foundation, said:

“The foundation’s board is delighted to support Carers Worldwide and its wonderful work as one of our new strategic partners. We aim to build on the Goyal Foundation’s previous funding of Carers Worldwide.

We hope that this new partnership will see more Carers Groups set up across South Asia and influence government at all levels to provide better support for unpaid carers. Enabling carers to balance their caring responsibilities with work and earning will help more women and their families fulfil their potential which is our key strategic priority.

Carers Worldwide may be a relatively small charity but it really makes a big impact.”
